We are excited to announce a new partnership with Rising Above Great Dane Funding. This partnership is a major step toward the ongoing commitment we have to our adopters and hope you are as excited as we are.
Rising Above Great Dane Funding is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial assistance to Great Dane parents experiencing economic hardship. So what does this mean for our adopters?
This means our previous adopters are eligible to apply for financial support if their Great Dane needs vet care that cannot be afforded due to economic hardship and extenuating circumstances; even if the adopters are outside of Rising Above’s coverage area.
We adopted our Great Danes to your family for a reason, so this further solidifies our commitment to finding loving, forever homes for our Great Danes. Life and finances don’t always go as planned and we all need a helping hand at times.

Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue, is saddened to announce that our Intake for Great Danes will be temporarily freezing starting today, December 1, 2022. This decision has not been made lightly and we hope that it can be changed in the very near future.
Our Rescue needs three resources to survive these tough times:
• Foster Homes for all the Great Danes needing our help – maybe you know of someone that wants to help?
• Adoptive Homes willing to see the perfection and beauty in our imperfect fosters
• Funds to afford medical care and training. The current average cost per Great Dane in Rescue is nearly $2000 per dog!
To help understand how difficult things have gotten, I think it is important to share some critical numbers with you.
