So, this says it will work for stairways, but I was unable to figure it out. Also, the screen kept getting stuck.

This gate will only install in one direction for latch to work. I have an opening that for most units is a reversible catch. The pop rivets on this unit allows for only one side catch. After cutting end apart and re-attaching the direction I need its finally installed. Buyer beware. I now have to add that after my 40 lb dog jumped on the top of the barrier it officially broke. Less than two weeks of usage…… you decide

Excellent quality and easy to install. I got this due to adopting a blind puppy. It was very easy to install and very easy to use. Once in a while it doesn’t latch correctly but that’s not due to design it’s more user related. Overall I really recommend this gate.
